Meditation Mantras - Creating Your Own Personal Affirmation

For thousands of years meditation gurus have been using “Mantras” to focus their meditative thoughts to a singular purpose. Some of the most simple mantras are the “ommm” or “ahhh” sounds found commonly throughout Eastern religions.

The sound of ahhhh is commonly referred to the sound of creation. If you analyze most names for God, you’ll find that they incorporate the sound of ahhh phonetically. For instance, God sounds like “G ahhhhhh D”.

With this knowledge, you can activate the source of creation by repeating the sound of “ahhh”. While using this sound, focus your thoughts on what you desire to create. What you visualize while using the sound of “ah” will send out focused signals to the universe to bring you what you desire.

Let’s take this concept a step further.

Creating your own personal mantra can be of tremendous benefit to you because it allows you to create a focused message that you resonate with during your meditation. You can start with a simple term such as “love”. While meditating, repeat the word love in a steady and relaxed fashion in your mind. This creates the vibrations of love in your energy, and consequentially brings more love energy into your life.

If you are suffering from depression, anxiety, or stress then you can use a mantra that is directly opposed to those emotions, such as “Joy”. Again, repeat the word joy in your mind during meditation and you will begin receiving more and more joyful events and feelings in your life.

These mantras definitely do not need to be limited to one or two words. They can be entire phrases!

Let’s say you have a desire to completely overhaul your life. You’re not happy with your job, you want to receive more money, and your physical condition is lacking. All change and action comes from thought, so spark that change with intention and create your own mantra!

So let’s examine: You want more happiness, more money, and to be physically fit. Start the mantra off with a proclamation of the reality you desire, such as “I am”. Then add the results you wish to desire …

“I am happy, rich, and fit” or “I am joyful, wealthy, and healthy”.

There you have it, your own personal mantra tailored to your own desires and contrast in life. Now, to maximize the results of your mantra, use it beyond your meditation sessions. While working, commuting to work, doing the dishes, falling asleep, repeat the mantra to yourself! Again, the signals of creation are sent out as you repeat the mantra.

One last thing, don’t be afraid to adjust and change your mantra. Your energy changes, and so do your desires and goals. Change your inner mantra to fit your present reality.

Love and light.

Some people have been waiting for opportunity to knock for more than half of their lives. Chances are if they keep sitting around waiting, nothing will ever happen.

Majority of people do not realize that you have to take action. You have to find an opportunity. They are all around us, and when you find them you must act on them as soon as possible.

Successful people recognize an opportunity when they see it. They will not hesitate to act either.

Successful people realize that waiting around will only induce failure. Why wait until tomorrow when you can take action today?

You can achieve success a lot faster if you go out and make things happen.

The 3 Secrets to Using the Law of Attraction Successfully

I am often asked ‘what are the main things I have to do when using the Law of Attraction to create the life I really want?’ To answer this question I always explain there is a 3 point formula you have to put in place to attract what you want.

1. Sustained Focus - Getting side tracked is the biggest problem in using the Law of Attraction today, as everyone is busier than ever. We are besieged by massive amounts of information from the Internet, TV and radio, as well as the print media. As well, studies have shown that the average person has over sixty thousand thoughts per day.

Add to this the demands of your job, plus family demands on your attention and you will realize that using the Law of Attraction takes some discipline and determination. You need something to remind you to focus, as the benefits are huge.

2. Specific Visualization: You need to get a really clear vision of what you want and then ask for it. Unfortunately the Universe does not read minds, so you have to be very specific.

For example, if you are unhappy in your current job and ask the Universe to help you find a new job - how can you visualize it unless you know what sort of position you want? However if you want a specific type of position, then you can visualize yourself doing that type of job without any problem. It also means that when you apply and are interviewed you have the correct mindset for the position, as you have already seen yourself doing the job in your imagination.

3. Consistent Action: Taking action was not stressed in the film ‘The Secret’, however without action nothing happens. Success will follow automatically if you focus on what you want, visualize yourself in possession of it and take action when the Universe presents you with opportunities. The Law of Attraction then becomes unstoppable.

Wallace D. Wattles the author of the book ‘The Science of Getting Rich’, on which ‘The Secret’ is based, wrote “By thought, the thing you want is brought to you. By action, you receive it.”

So the key to success is: -

Sustained focus + specific visualization + consistent action.

Sue Archibald became involved in teaching personal development courses 17 years ago. She developed a screensaver, containing powerful affirmations to speed up the results of her students and prevent them being sidetracked. This meant that every time their computers were idle, they would get a reminder to focus, visualize and take action. This can be seen at: http://today-is-my-day.com

Innovation - 3-Steps to Creating New Realities

Do you want to create something new, or perhaps change part of your life? Consider that, whatsoever you desire can be yours if you ask for it believing that you already have it - even if it doesn’t exist yet. In other words, if you think about a thing in such a way that you truly FEEL grateful and happy that you have received it, then it will be given to you, or you will be led to it - and inspired to achieve it.

When you place your “mental order,” for something new or different, with a prayer, hope, dream, etc, there are two components you must consider: What you want; and, How you want to feel. If you truly feel good about what you have asked for, you will affirm it to yourself - if not to others - and you will act on the inspirations you receive. Faith without action is something different than faith. Here are three-simple steps for creating a new reality:

1. Ask - Ask for what you want by thinking about it in as much specific detail as you can - and in such a way that you feel grateful and happy. Your thoughts are your request; and the feelings caused by those thoughts are also a request.

2. Affirm - Declare the reality you desire. If you weigh 200-pounds, and wish to weigh 175-pounds, declare that you are, “a fit, healthy, happy 175-pounds;” and visualize this happy, new you. Think of ways other people have achieved your desires and make plans, or simply imagine, how you might get from one place to another. All you need is a possibility - and to affirm that possibility to yourself. All things are possible; affirm your dreams until you believe in them.

3. Act - When you believe in your dreams, you will act on them - or they might seem to “magically” manifest for you. In either case, if an obvious action step presents itself to you, you must take it. It is your dream, after all; it is the taking of those steps that constitutes the “living” of that dream. And, when you act, act boldly and with confidence.

If at first you don’t succeed, Adjust and Achieve… Don’t give up on your dreams just because they haven’t come true - yet! If you first efforts fall short, or don’t seem to be producing the results you truly want, then Adjust to the feedback you received until you Achieve the desired outcome, conditions, or situation.

Adjust - Adjust your plans and actions based on feedback, or results. Be flexible, dynamic, and willing to change your approach in order to fine-tune your ability to receive or achieve your goal or desire.

Achieve - Achieve anything you can imagine by being bold, creative, flexible, and open and willing to be surprised at how your dreams are delivered to you.

Three Simple Ways to Start Believing in Yourself

If you’ve spent much of your life dismissing your talents and doubting your capabilities, it can seem like an impossible goal to begin believing in yourself. Since believing in yourself is such a vital part of goal achievement, overcoming your doubt and disbelief is crucial if you want to improve your life.

Believing in yourself is a simple matter of changing the way you think about yourself and your capabilities. Remember that negative thinking is a habit, whether it applies to you or the circumstances of your life.

In order to develop a strong belief in yourself, try these 3 steps:

Acknowledge your potential.

Self-doubt is often the result of an ongoing barrage of assumptions. You assume you cannot succeed at your goals because you haven’t succeeded at many things before. You assume you have no talent because your third-grade teacher once told you so. You assume you are destined for a mediocre life because you’ve never pushed yourself beyond your limits.

Three Simple Ways to Motivate Yourself

When you feel unmotivated, changing your mind-set can seem as strenuous as hauling yourself out of a sticky pit of mud. Not only do you feel unmotivated, you feel unmotivated about trying to GET motivated!

Luckily, the mind is very susceptible to persuasion - if you use the right stimulators.

Here are 3 simple ways to motivate yourself:

Remind yourself why your goal is important.

Sometimes it’s easy to lose your motivation if the end result doesn’t seem as important as it did when you first set the goal. Most of us are fired up with enthusiasm when we first set our goals, but over time that fire begins to die down.

In order to rekindle the flames, revisit your goal in full detail! If you kept notes about what you wanted to achieve, re-read them now. If not, simply take a trip down memory lane. What will your goal do for you? Why was it once important to you? Is it still important to you? Important enough to override the temptation to avoid working on it?

Daily Self-Care Habits to Manage Stress

Today we have more stress in our lives than ever before – good stress, bad stress, red stress, blue stress (my little ode to Dr. Seuss). No matter what kind of stress it is, a real crisis or an imagined one, stress is incredibly harmful to our body, mind and soul.

Here are my favourite self-care habits for dealing with stress:

1. Get in the habit of noticing.

Take an inventory of all the things that just don’t feel right in your life or that you know are causing you stress. For example, when you approach certain people, places or situations do you feel more stress and tension? Once you have your list in place, look at what you can change yourself, and do it. You can also use this list to predict stressful situations before they occur.

2. Get in the habit of asking for help.

For what you can’t change yourself, you need a team. Build a team of experts to handle your list. A coach, at the top of the list, will help with the big picture and will keep you honest about your efforts. Other team members might be a family doctor who listens to you, a financial planner, a massage therapist and an exercise partner.

3. Get in the habit of bouncing back.

Think of Plan A as your basic self-care plan while stress is under control. Now imagine something happens and you are under stress. Instead of abandoning all self-care because you can’t do it all, have a Plan B ready beforehand.

4. Get in the habit of relaxing.

If you practice relaxation techniques (breathing, meditation, imagery, music) every day, then when stressful situations come up you’ll have the tools at your fingertips.

5. Get in the habit of gratitude.

Our attitude comes from our emotions and our emotions come from our thoughts. Thinking about what we’re grateful for and what we’re good at can keep things positive. It’s not about shying away from what’s challenging you – it’s about approaching life from a place of strength and not as a victim.

6. Get in the habit of creating.

Experiment with a new recipe in the kitchen, write a poem, bang a drum, do a craft, take a dance class or do something else that feels creative to you.

7. Get in the habit of putting your stuff away.

Physical clutter can really impact on mental, emotional and physical health. Get rid of things that don’t make you happy when you look at them. Organize your stuff. Find a place for everything and keep it there.

8. Get in the habit of breathing.

This is the simplest and quickest way to relax yourself in a stressful situation. The minute you focus on your breathing it automatically gets slower and deeper.

9. Get in the habit of daydreaming.

Take yourself away on an imaginary holiday. Just close your eyes and go! Picture somewhere you’ve been or somewhere you’ve dreamed of.

10. Get in the habit of giggling.

Laugh out loud every day.

Don’t let your stress get the better of you! Which one of these strategies can you apply this week to manage your stress?
