Mini-Vacation: Tune Out
Tune out, turn off: take 30 minutes to ignore your cell phones, pagers, computers, watches and other devices. Use this “techno-free” time to nap, read, visit a friend, etc.

A great little Article I just had to share with you all!
I was determined to take it easy and just relax. I had worked every day for 10 straight days and envisioned a day by the pool maybe even with a cold beer and a good book. I like relaxing, it’s enjoyable and good for you so why wouldn’t anybody do it as much as possible?
I’ll tell you why, because of stuff, that’s why.
Stuff is designed to stop you doing what you really want to do, Stuff expands to fill available time, Stuff arrives when you least expect it and Stuff does its utmost to throw you off track. It has a contract to adhere to because its job is to test you to the limits of your endurance and then just a little bit more. Like a maternal aunt that doesn’t realize she outstayed her welcome in 1988 Stuff will hang around ad infinitum if you don’t throw it out.
So what is Stuff?
That’s a tricky question because it can morph into anything you don’t want it to be. It could be a toilet overflowing when you are about to go to the movies, it could be a knock on the door that ends up being a 30 minute conversation you didn’t want, it could be a call to your bank that ends up being 45 minutes long of which 40 minutes is on hold, it could be losing your Internet connection and the phone company saying it’s a router fault and the router company saying it’s a problem with the phone line, it can be a million different things or just one.
So yesterday I got hit by Stuff early on and never recovered. I did deal very harshly with some ants, collect some groceries, write a post. mop the floors, clean out my car, cook dinner, collect a part for the TV but nothing that I actually wanted or intended to do.
Can Stuff be beaten?
Oh yes, it surely can if only we remember how. Unlike nature, Stuff loves a vacuum. It loves it because it is its job to fill it and fill it quickly. So don’t give it chance! Plan out your day even the ones that do not involve work. If you need 4 hours to chill and relax then write it down in your planner or on your calendar as you would any other appointment, the same goes for the gym, or meditating or even watching TV if that is what helps you relax. Be brutal and selfish with your own time because Stuff hates that.
This sounds like a lot of trouble and if Stuff never manages to get its talons in you then it may be unnecessary. However, if you are one of an increasingly large percentage of people that gets to the end of the day and wanders where it went and why you didn’t get much done then it may be a sensible consideration.

This is a easy one….
BELIEF
=> Belief that we really do control our own destiny.
=> Belief that we really can work smarter, not harder.
=> Belief that we really deserve a rich life without struggle.
you have to move past self-doubt and fear and simply believe that you can have the life that you have always dreamed of.
Today I finished a workshop on the Book “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill
This seems to be the topic of the day.. so what the heck it was time to read it again. I have read it before… several times I think. But it just didn’t seem to sink in until now. I wonder how many people thought “how could a book written in 1937 be helpful?” The would be the true definitions of laws wouldn’t it.
To the point… This is material that I have always known and always used.
In my much younger years when I was making decisions to change my life, divorce, go back to school, create a better life for myself and the kids. These things just happened. I suppose I was very naive. I thought I had magical powers. Whatever decision I made always came to me, everything turned out right the way I had planned. Awesome, great, I just knew how to use the laws.
So what happened over the last 10 years… where everything was a struggle and where I was very very unhappy. I became to smart for my own good, listened to other people, who said there was no such thing as “magical powers”.
Today, Today I can thank my higher source for giving me the change to learn about how other people who don’t believe in themselves and their higher power.
Is it really magic, no. But it is a change in how you think, feel, act.
Totally worth exploring… so over the next few days that is what I will be doing…. join in add your comments.

Are you in the in-between time? Let me explain.
In the life of every person there are basically three phases: The inspiration, the success, and of course the in-between. The inspiration phase is very common. This is the phase were you come up with a great idea, plan, goal, resolution, business idea… you get my point?
However, success isn’t nearly as common. Success is the phase where you see the inspiration come to pass. So why is this? It’s because of the phase of life I like to call ‘the in-between’. The in-between is where the work, sweat, tears, obstacles, and seemingly impossible circumstances take place.
The in-between time is, of course, the hardest. It’s where you no longer feel the strong sense of inspiration that you did in the beginning. It’s where you find yourself questioning whether or not you are capable of achieving success. It’s where the process takes place to mold you into a person of success.
The sad thing is that most people don’t finish out the in-between time. They become discouraged because success can feel so far away. But you must remember that all great things that have been done, and all successful people, must go through this in-between time. This is where you grow into a person who is qualified to handle true success. Many times, this is where you find your true self.
Most people aren’t ready to make the changes in their lives that are necessary to go through this process. The person you were in the inspiration phase won’t be the same person that emerges in the success phase. In the success phase, you will have developed a success mentality and acquired skills and attributes that successful people have. Everyone wants success but not everyone is willing to go through the in-between time.
If you are going through the in-between time right now, DON’T give up. This is the phase of your life where your greatness is unleashed and it’s what makes success even sweeter.

Recipe for Simplicity
by Linda Breen Pierce
“Simplify, Simplify…” More than a century after Henry David Thoreau uttered these words, his plea for simplicity has more significance now than ever before. We work hard and play hard, filling nearly every moment with activity. Most families believe they need two incomes to pay for a standard of living that has doubled in the last 50 years. But do we? Based on my three-year study of over 200 people who have simplified their lives, I found that we can work less, want less, and spend less, and be happier and more fulfilled in the process. Here are ten suggestions to simplify your life. Don’t try to simplify your life in a few weeks or months; most people need an initial period of three to five years to complete this transition. Small, gradual steps are best.
1. Don’t let any material thing come into your home unless you absolutely love it and want to keep it until it is beyond repair. Too much stuff — it’s suffocating us. Purchasing, maintaining, insuring, storing and eventually disposing of our stuff sucks up our precious life energy.
2. Live in a home with only those rooms that you or someone in your family use every day. Create a cozy home environment that fits your family. You will find this is much more satisfying than living in a museum designed to impress your friends. Spending time and money to maintain a home that is larger than you truly need diverts these resources from more fulfilling endeavors.

Most people think of time management as a system for organizing the day or week in order to maximize efficiency. I’d like to propose a different view of time management that is complimentary to the traditional view but has far greater implications for your quality of life.
Rather than viewing time on the small scale of a day or a week or a month or even a year let’s think of how effective your time has been over a lifetime.
There are 8,766 hours in an average year. This means that by the age of 20 you have lived 175,320 hours, by 30 it is 262,980, by 40 you have lived 350,640 and by 50 the total hours lived adds up to 438,300 on so on.
My question is…are you getting value for those hours?
If you were paying someone, by the hour, to build a magnificent life would you be happy that you had got your money’s worth if that person had built your current life in the total number of hours that you have lived?
With traditional time management it is easy to become super efficient each and every day and yet when viewed over a lifetime you have really not achieved anything magnificent or inspiring. In recent years the emphasis in time management has been to ensure that you are doing what is important rather than what is urgent but still it is possible that you achieve many small victories in the short term yet your life as a whole has not been a masterpiece.
My suggestion is this…. that at the beginning of each week, before you plan yours days and hours for the week, you imagine yourself looking back from ten years in the future.
Then ask yourself — what do I need to do this week so that when I look back I will honestly say that those ten years were a magnificent part of my life and I am totally and enthusiastically proud to have lived them.
The only time that you can actually use is the precise moment that you are presently experiencing. However without a frame of reference most people fritter away those present moments. By viewing each moment as a dot of paint on the canvas of a magnificent life then it is far more likely that you will treasure the moment and use it to enhance your life.
At the start of each month repeat the weekly exercise but instead of thinking from the perspective of ten years into the future think from the perspective of look back from the last few moments of your life. Imagine that you have finally run out of time and you are assessing whether your life was a success, a failure or just another average existence. What would you really like to see? What sort of life would you really be happy to have lived?
Once you have this picture in your mind ask yourself how you need to use your time in order to be contributing to that amazing adventure that your life should be. There are many different religious and philosophical views on life after death and reincarnation and planes of existence but the only things you can be sure of is that you have this life that you are experiencing now and that one day this life will be over.
Life is not a practice session it is the real thing.
Every moment you live is a little piece that, when taken together with all the other moments, creates your unique life. The clearer the picture you have of that life as a whole, the easier it is to know where and how this present moment best fits into that life.
Try the weekly and monthly exercises outlined above as you will find your life taking a more inspiring direction.

You’re on the way to the supermarket. As you approach the first aisle, you reach in your coat pocket to find the shopping list. It’s not there. Scouring through your purse yields no results. Most of us typically make little notes or lists, and seem to misplace them. There is so much going on in our lives, the tendency to forget becomes a frequent occurrence. To avoid this annoyance in the future, here are some tips on how writing effective to-do lists can save you time and stress.
Gather all of the scraps of paper from wherever you’ve placed them, and set them down on the kitchen table. By using either a yellow legal pad; date book; notebook; or anything large enough which cannot be misplaced, transfer everything you’ve written on the scraps of paper to any one of these notebooks or pads. If you prefer, you can attach sticky notes inside items as well.
Separate the to-do list by category; shopping; appointments, and things to do today.
As each item is completed, cross it off. This will allow you to keep everything you need in one place; and save valuable time later on.
Place two large magnetic clipboards on your refrigerator; one for your grocery list and one for your daily tasks. As you run out of items, write it down. Transfer the list to your book the night before you go to the supermarket. On the daily task board, begin a to-do list for those projects which need to be done around the house. Assign tasks to family members as well by writing the task with their name next to it.
Use your daily calendar, which can be purchased as a monthly or weekly guide, for appointments and to-do lists. There is a telephone and address section at the back which can be used for doctors, dentists, and important information which you can access immediately.
Try to get out of the habit of writing things down on bits of paper. Once lost, you’ll be hard pressed to remember what you wrote down. In addition, write clearly. Sometimes we are in such a hurry we tend to use anagrams or codes. Ensure what you record is readable, in case someone else has to check an item for you.
Writing effective to-do lists are vital tools which, when used properly, can allow you to accomplish tasks you have schedule for the day, remove the stress, and keep everything on track. Just as you have an address book, you can utilize several books to be used for family medical information, pet records, home projects, and anything else you require to keep your daily life sufficiently organized.
