Lead by example

One of my strongest principles is to lead by example.

This is not easy sometimes but it is important. It gives you a goal to work toward and it is rewarding for both you and the people around you.

Granted no one is perfect you are exactly the way you are. But Reach for the goal.

To that end, I am off on a week long vacation, open air, great scenery and no email or phone.

I’ll be back in a week, with a tan and ready to get to work!

See you all then!

Do you ever find yourself getting stuck in negative thought patterns and expecting the worst possible outcome in every situation?  It’s a common mind-set that proves difficult to change when you finally decide you’ve had enough.  Unfortunately, negative thoughts tend to breed and multiply on their own – even when you’re not consciously trying to think negatively.

The good news is that turning a negative outlook into a positive one just takes a bit of patience and persistence until the positive thoughts begin to take over.

Below you’ll find three simple steps to begin forming positive expectations on a daily basis:

Failure Doesn’t Exist

Have you ever held back on doing something because you were afraid of failure?  Most people have!  Let’s face it; no one likes to fail.  None of us likes to feel like we’re ineffective, weak or lacking in any way, and that’s exactly how failure makes us feel.

However, you may be surprised to know that failure doesn’t exist – until YOU say it does.  In the dictionary, failure has several definitions:  1)  a failing to do or perform  2)  a state of inability to perform a normal function adequately  3)  a fracturing or giving way under stress  4)  a lack of success.

Look carefully at those definitions and you’ll probably realize they have one thing in common when it comes to goal achievement:  failure is a PERCEPTION.

Trust your instincts

Instinct is that inner voice that affects how you think, feel and act. It’s part of what experts refer to as “emotional intelligence.” Trusting your instinct often leads to positive outcomes.

  • Trust your instincts when analyzing information. If something doesn’t seem right review it until you have the inofrmation you need to make good decision.
  • Let your instinctsguide you as a parent.
  • Trust your instincts when it comes to safety. If someone makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, pay attention to that feelings and take steps to protect yourself and the people you care about

How To Find Your Purpose?

To find your purpose, follow these easy steps:
1) Find a large mountain
2) Climb it.
3) Locate the guru in the long flowing white robe
4) Ask him “Master what is my purpose?”
5) Wait for answer
6) Leave mountain immediately and apply!

I wish it were that easy.

When I read this it brought a smile to my face… I totally agree, I wish that it was that easy as well. There are many steps in finding your purpose and it requires study, work and some very hard soul searching to determine what you want your life to stand for and be about. Some people are lucky and this happens to them by accident. Most people, however have to work to find it. Here are some ideas and techniques for finding your purpose

It is not a impossible task, it just takes some dedication and focus. If you are looking for your purpose you are half way there, many people go through life not even thinking that there is something not working. They walk through their daily life, content that tomorrow will be the same feeling of ambivalence as yesterday was.

You on the other hand, have already made the first step, you know that it doesn’t feel right to remain this way. Now the problem usually arises is HOW do you move forward, HOW do you figure out what is your real purpose.

That is where I come in, I can help you work through your thoughts, feelings, doubts, and create a purpose that feels right and that you can be proud of. Contact me at lori@foundationcoaching.com
