Dear Friends,
Are
you a Workaholic?
Does
this scenario sound familiar to you? You love your work and are
responsible for
multiple projects and tasks that continue to be assigned to you or your
group.
You actually thrive on the multiple deadline pressures. Or perhaps you
hold
multiple jobs or own your own business. Your work hours are long, your
at-home
hours short, and your sleep hours few. Vacations and social visits with
friends
are a distant memory. Your only hobby is your job.
- Arriving early,
staying late, doing more that what's required to do a good job.
- A fast pace,
irritability with anyone who isn't "working hard enough."
- Inability to
take time off when sick; unused vacation days.
- Difficulty
putting things in perspective; can't tell what's important.
- Diminished
relationships; people at home are mad or distant.
- Impatience,
criticism or hostility close to the surface when dealings with
subordinates.
Are
you a Control freak?
Do
you
like to take charge of situations? Are you a megalomaniac, a control
freak who
always has to get things your way? Have you crossed the line and become
the
sort of person who is never wrong, always right, and won't take no for
an
answer? Hey, just because you are bossy doesn't mean your the boss!
- Other
people don’t have the same high standards as me.
- If
I had more time, I’d do everything myself.
- I
can’t trust other people to do the more critical tasks that
need to be done.
- Other
people can’t do things as well as me.
- I
wish I could clone myself and get my clones to do all the work.
- I
have to monitor other people constantly to ensure that they do the
right thing.
Are
you a Perfectionist?
Are
you
putting unreasonable demands on yourself by setting the bar too high?
Do you
expect too much from your children or lover? Or feel that the world is
exerting
pressure on you? You might be a perfectionist.
- I get impatient
with people around me - they always screw up in one way or another.
- If I make a
mistake, others will think that I am incapable.
- My partner is
likely to reject me at some point unless I am better (smarter, better
looking, etc.) than any other potential mate.
- I have been
told by people around me that I focus on the problems in life and, even
if everything is okay, I will always find something that bothers me.
- I would rather
work harder and do things myself then delegate tasks to other people.
- Being 'average'
is a terrible thought for me
What
exactly have you done for yourself lately? How do you take
care of yourself? How do you acknowledge yourself?

You
are
waiting for other people to do these things for you? Why, because you
don’t
deserve it, you are unworthy of it.
"Look
inside Find your true voice, live
unbound from your heart proud and outloud with meaning Passion and
Purpose with
Connectedness knowing where and to whom you belong. You can do it!" Margaret Wolf
There
are many things that you can change about your life: jobs, careers,
husbands/significant other, cities, countries, houses, cars…
But does changing
any or all of these things accomplish the feeling you are looking for?
And if
you make changes and do NOT change how you are taking care of yourself,
does it
really impact your life?
Things
might change for awhile, but they return you right back to the same
space
unless you decide to change yourself. Changing how you treat the most
important
person in your life … YOU! Then and only then will things
flow together and
begin to feel like what you are looking for.
Most
people don’t make such changes until they must move through a
traumatic
experience, an illness or death of a loved one or maybe you have had a
close
call yourself. Some people need the kick in the pants, that a huge life
changing circumstances create. Other people are afraid and take solace
within
their personal comfort zones. Change is a scary process.
The
next
question you may be asking is “What
is extreme
self care?”

The
meaning that resonates to me… is “the practice of fully
committing to a nurturing lifestyle.”
Extreme
Self Care requires connecting with yourself on a daily basis, deciding
what you
need and then following through to make it happen.
You can Create amazing
results in your life, such as a
higher level of self-awareness and self-confidence, a more balanced
life,
smarter goal-setting and lower stress levels.
People
are resistant, they are scared, they trapped in their comfort zone.
Even when
they can see that following a certain path will lead to ripe rewards;
they are
frozen in their tracks.
I’m
sure
that you are feeling the same way right now, you have taken a close
look at
your life… and saw that it needs some work. But where does
that leave you,
sitting all alone sobbing in front of the mirror?
The
Concept of Extreme Self Care requires a radically extreme
shift in one’s attitude.
Self
care leads to feeling better about yourself and your life. There is a natural shift
to a higher level of
experience in every area of your life.
Are you
worth it?
Are
you
worth making the decision to change those things in your life? Are you
ready to
have more fun, create more artistry and creativity in your life, are
you ready
to be successful and satisfied that you have done everything you could
today to
love yourself and give yourself the strength to create a lifestyle of
Extreme
Self Care?
Hell, Yes, you are worth it ! You do deserve
it! and yes every last experience that you have while taking extreme
care of
yourself will feel better then the last one.
